Kirk is a tech entrepreneur with a background in cognitive science and education. Most recently, he was the CEO of Cognition, a natural language and semantics technology company, where he led a product pivot culminating in an acquisition by Nuance.
Prior to that, as Chief Product Officer at Cerego, he spearheaded the development and launch of Japan's largest online learning service iKnow!, co-architected Cerego's learning and memory platform and oversaw their global API strategy and rollout.
Kirk advises multiple startups, including Melba, which he co-founded in 2011. He holds a Masters in “Mind, Brain and Education” from Harvard, studied AI and Epistemology at the MIT Media Lab, and majored in Psychology & Cognitive Science at Georgetown.

Totem is the brainchild of Josh Jones-Dilworth, co-founder and CMO. Josh is our domain expert and a leader in the marketing communications field having helped bring companies like Siri (acquired by AAPL) to market.
His list of clients past and present number more than 250, ranging from large companies like Pfizer and Gillette, to game changers like My ASICS, WolframAlpha, Klout, Addepar, Beluga, NGINX, Outbox, SRI International, Saga, Republic Wireless, ZocDoc and many more.
Josh founded Jones-Dilworth, Inc. in June of 2009 and serves as its CEO. JDI is a boutique marketing firm that is focused on shaping and bringing new technology ventures to market. Before JDI, Josh spent 5 years at global agency Porter Novelli, splitting his time between the New York and Austin offices, specializing in digital strategy. He is also a co-founder or The Daily Dot, a newspaper about the Internet, and one of the fastest-growing online media ventures ever.
Josh did his undergraduate work at Haverford College, and graduated with degrees in English and Philosophy. He spends his free time obsessing about Hunter S. Thompson, and the almighty breakfast taco.
